My Thoughts:
He's So Not Worth It picks up right where She's So Dead To Us ended, with Ally and Jake apart, after Shannon shows the video of her Dad working at a deli nearby. The humiliation and betrayal of everyone, including her Dad, sets off Ally's spiral into pure, teenage rebellion.

It's summer time, meaning the Cresties head out to their beach homes in Jersey Shore. Ally struggles with her mom dating Gray and in an attempt to avoid her old friends, begins hanging out with the locals...specifically the hottie Cooper. I have to admit, this whole venting of hers was a tad annoying for a bit, she was just nasty to everyone around her. But then it hit me! Her life was basically turned upside down, add in the fact that she's a teen and well, you have a recipe for disaster. When I look back, I think that we all have one (or more) of those phases, the ones you want to forget later in life. This was Ally's. She reaches out to the closest thing that is the opposite of what she had. Cooper doesn't judge her and is all about having a good time. He may be hot, but he's also a tool, with a lack of respect for anyone and anything; he smells bad from the beginning.

Jake is grounded, spending the summer at home and taking courses, while most his friends are away. His mom forces him to find a job and he's not allowed to go out for fun, except with Chloe.  There are parallels between Jake and her Dad, both are screwed up and trying to put the pieces back together ,which Jake learns from. We see how much he cares for Ally and with a few hiccups here and there, he really matures in this book. One other thing I have to admit.... I missed seeing more of Jake!

He's So Not Worth It is about Ally crumbling to pieces and Jake figuring out how to get back in her life. With a cliffhanger ending, I'm eager to see how this all plays out in the end.

  1. I wished there was more Jake too. But I can't wait to see how everything turns out in bk.3.

  3. I need to read He's So Not Worth It still but my sister read it the other day and I laughed at her expression when she finished the book because she was totally frustrated by the ending. Cliffhangers are not always fun... Thanks for the review! :)
