How Many Have You Read?

Last October, Scholastic began YouAreWhatYouRead.com, a social network site designed for booklovers. Users are asked to create their own Bookprint of the five books that helped shape who they are. To date, the site has 15,000 users and over 200 Names You Know contributing (ranging from presidents to actors to famous athletes), here are the results so far!

There are two books listed in the adult list that I have yet to enjoy: Gone with the Wind which is my mom's favorite and I have seen the movie numerous times, I even had a family dog named Ashley (yes, he was a boy too) and The Giver. It looks like I must change this soon!! How many have you read from these lists?

  1. I have pretty much read everything on both lists besides Gone With The Wind (but I love the movie) and Pride and Prejudice which I'm not a fan of Jane Austin or her movies.

  2. I've only read a couple on both lists. Most were read when I was in high school so I really should reread them sometime.

  3. I've read everything on the adult list but only the first HP book, not the entire series. On the list picked by kids I've read two.

  4. On the first list, I've read 8 out of 10 (I have yet to read the same ones as you). On the second list - 7 out of 10.

This is the first I hear of the website. Thanks for the heads up. :)

  5. Um, I don't think I've read very many of these books. I have the Giving Tree and my son and I read that one when he was younger. I have read The Hunger Games (the whole trilogy). We do have the Harry Potter series here, but never got very far in them (trying to read with my son. Ha!) And we have the starts of the Percy Jackson series here which he read a little over half of it.

Oh Green Eggs and Ham! We have and read it! :)

    Really a great list! Thanks!

  8. Surprised that I haven't read many of the titles on either list! I've only read Harry Potter, Pride & Prejudice, and The Giving Tree on the adult list. And read the Harry Potter books and Dr Seuss on the kids list. Off to add my two cents!

  10. I love and hate seeing books like this. I like to think that I am a well read person and yet there are book son these lists that I haven't read! I am certainly inspired to read these books now, and am also feeling a nostalgic longing to reread some of my old favorites.
