2010 Support Your Local Library Challenge!

Hosted by the awesome J. Kaye, here are the details:

1. Anyone can join. You don't need a blog to participate.

--Non-Bloggers: Post your list of books in the comment section of the wrap-up post. To learn how to sign up without having a blog, click here.

2. There are four levels:

--The Mini – Check out and read 25 library books.

--Just My Size – Check out and read 50 library books.

--Stepping It Up – Check out and read 75 library books.

--Super Size Me – Check out and read 100 library books.

(Aim high. As long as you read 25 by the end of 2010, you are a winner.)

3. Audio, Re-reads, eBooks, YA, Young Reader – any book as long as it is checked out from the library count. Checked out like with a library card, not purchased at a library sale.

4. No need to list your books in advance. You may select books as you go. Even if you list them now, you can change the list if needed.

5. Crossovers from other reading challenges count.

6. Challenge begins January 1st thru December, 2010.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With all the challenges for 2010, my wallet is going to need this break! I'm signing up for the mini but hoping to break through 25!

Here is my list of checked out books:

  1. The Dark Divine by Bree Despain (due back Jan 22 - returned)
  2. Scones & Sensibility by Lindsay Eland (due back Feb 7 - returned)
  3. Fallen by Lauren Kate (due back Feb 2 - returned unread)
  4. Indy's Adventures (due Feb 18)* for my son
  5. The Spiderwick Chronicles (reader) (due Feb 18)* for my son
  6. The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong (due back Feb 24)
  7. Some Girls Are by Courtney Summers (due back Feb 24)

  1. I am in on this one too. It will be so good for me. Currently I do not even have a library card. (I am so embarrassed by that!) However - I am fixing that today!

  2. I wanted to check this book out the other day (for this challenge as well), but it's not even in our library system yet! However, it looks like our local branch is expanding their YA section, so hopefully they'll have The Dark Divine soon :)

  3. Shelia ~ I had to dust mine off a few years ago but this will help get me there more often! It's like walking into a candy store, I love it :)

Alita ~ I put it on hold when it was still 'on order' and got to be the 1st to sign it out, woot! Sadly I don't see all the books I want at mine either so may have to see what I can do to put in some special requests :)

  4. I'm in this challenge as well. Should be fun!

What's nice is that we can combine challenges and use the same books for this challenge, the 100+ challenge, the YA challenge and whichever other ones fit! If I had to read separate books for each challenge, I'd never finish any of them!

    Good luck, and have fun!
