It's Monday! What are you reading? (September 28, 2009)
Last week I read:
Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand
after a few weeks, I finished it! I also have a giveaway here.
How the Dead Dream by Lydia Millet
A little slow to start but reminded me of Life of Pi by Yann Martel at the end. This is book one of a trilogy.
This week I'm reading:
Have a Little Faith: A True Story by Mitch Alboom
I have loved his previous books, nice easy reads and always inspiring.
I hate colds! I spent the weekend in bed & not sure how many books I can get through this week :(
What are you reading this week?
I hope you begin to feel better soon. Happy reading. My list is here: http://rundpinne.blogspot.com/2009/09/what-are-you-reading-monday_28.html
ReplyDeleteI remember reading Atlas Shrugged in college and loving it.
ReplyDeleteI really liked Life of Pi, is How the Dead Dream similar or is it just the ending?
Have a great week ahead
Here's my post
If you read Atlas Shrugged, you must red The Fountainhead too!
ReplyDeleteMondays: Musings/Readings/Mailbox
I'm currently in between books. I always feel so lost when that happens.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon! :)
I'm feeling a bit under the weather. Here is mine
ReplyDeleteAtlas Shrugged was an interesting read indeed. I am still waiting on Albom's new book to come to my library.
ReplyDeleteMy Stuff
Have a Little Faith sounds good. I love his previous books too.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon. I will have to check out Have a Little Faith. I am only reading one book this week and that is The Lost Symbol. Try to have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon and have a great reading week coming up!
ReplyDeleteOh man, I am so sorry to hear that! I can't read when I am sick...I just sleep. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel. I was sick for a week and a half just a bit ago. WHen I got better I read 3 books and I wrote 2 reviews. I was missing the blogging!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better.
Thanks everyone, you know your desperate when you are willing to take Buckley's :o (do they have that in the U.S? If not, their slogan is something like "it tastes awful but it works"!!!)
ReplyDeleteI hardly looked on blogger yesterday, hope to catch up with everyone's posts soon :)
K ~ just the ending BUT it is the first book in a trilogy. The book starts out wtih T's background, then halfway through something happens that changes the way he sees life. The simularity lies in animals, boats & self-discovery.
gautami tripathy ~ yes I think I will add this to my books to read in my lifetime too!
Bluestocking ~ hope your feeling better & better each day :)
ann marie ~ I hope you're enjoying The Lost Symbol, I really want to read that too!
Michelle ~ lol, I know what you mean ;)
Awww.. Mel! I hope you feel better soon!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of that Mitch Albloom book!
All this talk of Atlas Shrugged makes me want to put it at the top of my TBR pile!
I'm reading: An Echo in the Bone by Diana Gabaldon, the 7th in the series just released on Sept 22nd, Hugh and Bess by Susan Higgenbotham, Three Day Road by Joseph Boyden, and The Girl with the DRagon Tattoo. I have to admit this last one is not overly exciting. I hope it gets better! And hope you do too, my friend!
I hope you liked Atlas Shrugged. My husband and I read it together and we still quote it a year later.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon.
